David Marais – Quality Live Acoustic Music

Watch | Listen

About

Originally from beautiful Cape Town, South Africa, entertaining audiences with my acoustic songs that cover hundreds of old and new favorites, in addition to his original compositions. My laid-back pristine vocal and guitar music makes the perfect addition to your event, from live music pubs and restaurants, to private bookings for rehearsal dinners, weddings and corporate parties, to patio parties and holiday celebrations.

My musical wheelhouse is very vast and ranges from James Taylor to Fleetwood Mac, from Louis Armstrong to Ed Sheeran. I currently play over 2000 songs (covers of favorites and a lot of originals too), and am constantly adding to my repertoire), and cover the gamut of singer-songwriter favorites, classic rock, jazz and folk – and, of course, all the great pub sing-alongs.

I have been playing live acoustic music professionally for 30 years in various venues, and, importantly, I am extremely professional – I am punctual, I provide all my own sound equipment, I do not take onerously long breaks like many other musicians do, (in fact, I typically perform for 2-3 hours without taking a break), and can cater my performance to meet any specific needs.

Songs

I currently play over 2,000 classic and beloved songs, covering multiple genres and time periods, including my own collection of growing original music too.

I play everything from James Taylor’s iconic classics like “Fire and Rain” to Bob Dylan’s catalogue, “America Pie” (Don McLean)… pretty much most of the golden era 70s singer-songwriter songs that one can think of.

Here is a small sample of the songs I play:
