The Benn Experience

A music collective of some of the best talent. We are a high energy band from beginning to end. Melodic on top and all held down by their leader with ambient and thumping foundational grooves on the bass. It is an experience in FUNK JAZZ AND ROLL! Which is a blend of multiple styles that have audiences dancing and singing. Come and enjoy the Experience!

Repertoire ranging from the entire Motown catalog but specializing in the 60’s including Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Temptations, Supremes, etc to funk greats from Parliament to Brothers Johnson to The Gap Band to Rufus ft Chaka Khan to Prince etc, Rock to Jazz from Jimi Hendrix, The Rolling Stones, etc. the Miles Davis/Coltrane era to modern jazz such as Marcus Miller, Jaco Pastorius, Victor Wooten and other bass dominated jazz musicians. Leader led a tribute to Bob Marley for numerous years so extremely versed in that genre. In pop music from its early beginnings to the 80’s where Hall & Oates, Duran Duran, Michael Jackson, & Whitney Houston were popular to modern times such as Lizzo, Beyonce, Ari Lennox, etc. 

Members of the band are all full time musicians and have over 160 years of combined musical experience performing and have a longstanding background in multiple styles of music beginning with gospel and ending with all the other styles. The Majority of musicians are musicologists which means they have a strong expertise in all music styles, histories, etc.

Leader of the band is a Berklee College of Music graduate which is a premiere college of the world which prepares for all professional circumstances. Music Director/Leader of the Band has over 30 years of experience in music direction. Musicians are long standing touring and session musicians locally, regionally, and nationally.
