We provide music for pubs, clubs, parties, corporate events and weddings - and for outside events such as barbecues and bandstands in public parks. (We even play at funerals occasionally).
We play tuneful, foot tapping melodies and we are not too loud - conversation is still possible!
You can dance to our music and we are popular with all ages (even very young children!).The band is made up of four very experienced musicians and normally comprises trumpet, string bass, clarinet/tenor sax and banjo/guitar. If required we can provide additional musicians for a larger band. Also we can add a young lady singer. (See Helen's video of Besame Mucho). (Helen is originally from Hull but is fluent in Spanish and French).
We are based in the Stamford area UK and we will travel around 60 miles.
Mainly 1920s and 1930s tunes played in a Dixieland style such as: When You're Smiling, Five Foot Two, Ain't She Sweet, Indiana, Up the Lazy River, When the Saints go Marching In, On the Sunny Side of the Street, Careless Love Blues, I'm the King of the Swingers (I Wanna be like You).
You played at our wedding at Kingsthorpe lodge barn in Polebrook and we loved listening to your music! Lots of our guests commented on how much they enjoyed listening to you play on arrival. Kind Regards, Sam and Rosie.
Booking your group really was the icing on the cake for my party! Everyone commented how wonderful you were and the tone you set for us was just right. We have your business card and please use these comments to promote The Stamford Stompers.
Dear Derek, You were a blast – thank you kindly! Everyone loved you but most especially did my old Pa: that makes me very happy. Regards Beaulagh Smith.
Hi Derek. We have just returned from honeymoon. We would just like to say a huge thank you for everything you did. I had so many compliments from all of my guests and you played wonderfully. I look forward to hearing you again ...
