Lewis Bolland was born in 1992. His home life was filled with music, and his formal musical education began early with piano lessons given by his grandmother starting when he was only five years old. By the time he was 15, Lewis was frequently called upon as the keyboard player and drummer in school musical performances.
At the age of 15, driven both by a logical progression and a desire to share his passion for piano-playing, Lewis was in the rehearsal room as a student teacher, giving piano lessons to his contemporaries.
Queen mary’s college, was the obvious next step for Lewis in his quest for a deeper engagement with the world of music, studying music practice and performance. This enthusiasm blossomed into a band that he created. Soon they were supporting well-established artists from the uk charts. This in its turn led to the release of a single through a record label candy bass records.
By the time he left queen mary’s, Lewis had built a solid reputation as both an inventive and a reliable keyboard player, well-versed in the current idioms and styles forming themselves into the unique sounds of early 21st century popular music. To confirm this status, Lewis played backing keys with lauren aquilina on her bbc introducing headline set at the reading and leeds festivals. He followed this up by performing on her sold out uk tour before going on to play piano with various other up-and-coming artists on radio sessions, at festivals and in theatres.
Today Lewis runs his own company, private piano tuition, and spends most of his time teaching piano in his own teaching space and in schools. He is also a freelance session keys player.
With a compelling desire to publish his own piano compositions he also writes and records dance & rnb songs, working every week with close musical collaborators all of whom have been heavily supported by BBC introducing.
“I can’t recommend lewis enough, he is so talented! I really wanted to have a pianist play during our wedding ceremony and when i heard lewis play i had no doubts about booking him. He learnt a specific song for my walk down the aisle song as well as our exit song, and both were perfect! Great communication at all times and he is so professional. Thank you so much lewis, your beautiful music really added that extra special touch to our day.” - lisa hodges

“we cannot thank lewis enough for his time and dedication into making our wedding day so emotional but absolutely perfect. He made no fuss about us choosing which songs to play and took the time to learn and perfect them, slowing down the tempo to allow that nervous walk down the aisle to become much easier. Equally to have beautiful, recognisable background piano music played whilst all guests were eating brought a calm and relaxing atmosphere. If we could do it all again, we would not hesitate to contact lewis, thank you so much.” - abbey and dan colyer
“from the outset, he was receptive to our ideas and was calm and professional. He practised and diligently learned a new piece of music, which he played perfectly during the ceremony. His music is extremely emotive and even now, upon hearing the opening notes, the happy tears still flow! He was happy to play throughout the wedding breakfast, creating an unobtrusive but classy ambience for the occasion. We cannot recommend lewis highly enough; reliable, professional yet friendly, passionate and dedicated. He played a huge part in making the day so very special. Thank you so much lewis.” - julie & kevin walsh
