Vocalist/Bandleader Keith A. Dames is Bahamian American and originally from Miami, Florida and now resides in the Village of Harlem USA.
Mr. Dames considers himself a student of the Billie Holiday School of Music and began singing primarily but not exclusively in the genre of Jazz & Blues.
Mr. Dames has self produced two CD's the first his promotional entitled "Everything Happens To Me" featuring the Willie "Morris" Mitchell Trio with Willie "Morris Mitchell (piano) Suleiman "Hakim" Wright (bass) Buddy Henry (drums), the second entitled "Left Alone" the title tune a Billie Holiday and Mal Waldron composition featuring the Danny Mixon Quartet with Danny Mixon (piano) Bob Cunningham (bass) Marvin Horne (guitar) G Earl Grice (drums).
Mr. Dames has been performing around the 5 boroughs of New York City for the past two decades in historical venues such as New Amsterdam Musical Association, American Legion Post 398, 369th Regiment Harlem Armory, Apollo Theater, Jazz Spot, Creoles Restaurant and Music Supper Club, Zip Code, Metropolitan Room, and Triad Theatre/Stage 72.
Mr. Dames has worked with: Willie "Morris" Trio, Danny Mixon Quartet, Lafayette Harris Jr. Quartet, The Richard Clements Quartet, Rudel Drears Quartet, David Durrah Quartet, Buddy Henry Trio, and the Mud Pie Swing Band.
