Gordon James and the Power are Gordon James (guitar and vocals), John McKenzie (bass and vocals) and Blaire MacKenzie (drums and percussion).
Formed in the heart of Scotland's whisky capitol in 2016, they’ve quickly become leading up and comers in the North of the country.
Listing a broad array of influences such as The Beatles, City and Colour, Incubus and Motorhead, they have carved their own lyrically positive, emotive melody driven sound in the pop and acoustic markets.
Following on from the release of their self titled EP in 2017, the group have gone on to release several critically acclaimed singles including ‘Blood’ and ‘When I First Saw You There’ landing them the number 1 and number 2 spots in the Scottish New Music Charts . No strangers to the stage, Gordon James and the Power have made a lasting impression showcasing their heartfelt live performance across the UK and Norway. Noticeably the perfect festival act, they have joined the likes of James, Mel C and Gabrielle on the main stage at Party In the Palace, headlined the Freerange stage at Belladrum and opened the main stage at Jocktoberfest. Their touring plans will continue across Europe as they go on to promote their up coming record.
Keep your ears to the ground for this emotionally invoking, eclectic trio of rising talent.
